Dress Code

It is strongly recommended for students to wear the school colors on a daily basis. School uniforms increases school unity and spirit while helping form a positive image with both students and community. Students also have the option of wearing a school logo t-shirt available for purchase at cost in the schoo office.

Boys:

  • Navy or khaki pants or shorts (must fit at waist, no sgging or exposed underwear)
  • Maroon, grey, or white collared shirt or navy blue school logo t-shirt
  • Navy sweater or sweatshirt (without lettering) or logo sweatshirts available for purchase at cost in the school office.
  • PE shoes

Girls:

  • Navy or khaki pants, shorts, skirts, or jumpers (must fit at waist, no sgging, skirts just above the knee)
  • Maroon, grey, or white collared shirt or navy blue school logo t-shirt
  • Navy sweater or sweatshirt (without lettering) or logo sweatshirts available for purchase at cost in the school office.
  • PE shoes

All students and staff are expected to uphold high standards of conduct and appearance. Clothing should be suitable and comfortable for normal school activities and should reflect the respect, pride and standards of the student"s home and community.

The student's clothing and appearance should not draw undue attention to the student, nor should his/her clothing and appearance detract or interfere with teaching and learning in the classroom. General clothing standards for all children require that shoes be worn at all times. Sneakers must be worn for P.E.

The following items are not allowed to be worn at school:

  • Open-toed sandals, flip flops, slippers, high heel shoes and healies
  • Bare midriff tops, blouses, shirts or tops, mini shorts / skirts / skorts, and pajamas
  • Blouses or tops with straps smaller than one inch wide
  • T-shirts with imprinted suggestive words or pictures
  • Pants worn below waist level
  • Hats worn inside buildings
  • Dangling or large earrings
  • Excessive amounts of jewelry
  • Sunglasses- unless prescription
  • Hairstyles or excessive make-up that is a distraction to learning

Many of the above items can be hazardous when running and jumping on the blacktop and dirt playground.

Suggested Clothing for Girls

T-shirts, tank-tops, shorts, jeans and long pants. T-shirts with inappropriate graphic designs or language will not be allowed. When standing, the student's fingertips should touch the hem of the shorts. Skirts must be worn with undergarments such as shorts, leggings or tights that also follow the "finger tip" rule.

Suggested Clothing for Boys

T-shirts, sport shirts, shorts, jeans and slacks. T-shirts with inappropriate graphic designs or language will not be allowed.

We encourage you to observe your child before s/he comes to school to be certain s/he meets your approval in cleanliness and dress and that her/his clothing is appropriate for the weather. Children are not allowed to wear clothing promoting alcohol or smoking or using inappropriate words or images.

To prevent an article of clothing from becoming lost or stolen, it is important to label all sweaters, jackets, coats, etc. with the child's full name.

The principal may approve exceptions to the dress code for unusual situations or for specific events, such as spirit days.
