The Site Governance Team of Normal Heights Elementary is committed to shared decision making that most positively impacts teaching and learning. Definition of SGT
The SGT is a group consisting of all stakeholders (parents, community representatives, administrators, certificated and classified staff members and even students when appropriate) who come together regularly to participate in shared decision making, a process through which the culture, organization and procedures of a school are enhanced so that learning and teaching are maximized.

Scope of Authority

  • changes in the instructional program
  • elimination of a bargaining unit position
  • change in elementary prep time subject emphasis
  • non-classroom supervision schedules
  • contract independent study
  • site security/safety plan
  • site student discipline plan
  • itinerant staffing assignments
  • other topics as stated in the site by-laws
